Straight talk: this page explains how AralAbroad makes money, and what that does and doesn’t mean for the advice we give you.
How we make money
AralAbroad is free to read. We keep it that way by earning commissions and referral fees from some companies we write about — study-abroad agencies, test-prep providers, forex companies, insurance providers, and loan providers. If you click a link on our Site to one of these partners and then sign up, apply, purchase, or otherwise complete an action, that partner may pay us a commission or referral fee. This is standard practice for independent publishers (“affiliate marketing”). This costs you nothing extra — the price and terms you get are the same whether you come from AralAbroad or find the partner any other way. When a partner offers AralAbroad readers a special deal, we’ll say so explicitly.
What this doesn’t mean
Agencies and companies cannot pay us to get a good review, a higher rating, or better placement in our content. Our reviews, rankings, and recommendations are based on our own research, testing, reader feedback, and editorial judgment — not on who pays us the most commission. A partner paying a higher commission does not get more favorable treatment. If we think a company is mediocre, overpriced, or not a good fit for a type of student, we’ll say so — even if they’re a commission-paying partner. If we haven’t vetted a company well enough to have an opinion, we’ll say that too. We do not accept payment in exchange for writing a review, and we do not let advertisers pre-approve or edit our editorial content.
Where you’ll see this disclosed
We don’t bury this in a footer. Wherever a specific article, guide, or review contains affiliate/partner links, we disclose it directly on that page — usually near the top or right next to the relevant link or recommendation.
How to spot an affiliate link
Labeled with wording like “Partner link,” “Affiliate link,” or “We may earn a commission if you sign up through this link.” An unlabeled link is typically a free resource, government site, cited source, or another page on our own Site. Our commitment to you
We built AralAbroad because study-abroad information for Filipino students is often scattered, outdated, or written by agencies with an obvious incentive to steer you toward whoever pays them the most. Independent research first, monetization second. If an affiliate relationship ever compromises our ability to give honest information, we’ll drop the relationship, not the honesty.
