Do I need IELTS to study in the UK?
Most UK Student visa applicants need to prove an approved English-language test result — usually IELTS — to meet their university’s requirement. The exact score depends on your course and institution, so confirm the specific band your offer letter asks for.
How much money do I need to show for proof of funds?
As of GOV.UK’s guidance (checked 9 Jul 2026), you generally need to show funds covering tuition plus living costs — currently £1,529/month if studying in London or £1,171/month outside London, for up to 9 months, on top of your tuition. These figures change, so confirm the current amount on GOV.UK before you apply.
Can I work part-time while studying in the UK?
Most Student visa holders can work part-time, but the exact hours allowed depend on your course level and are set as a condition on your visa. Check your CAS and visa decision letter for your specific limit — we cover this in full in our part-time work rules guide (coming soon).
Do I need an agency to apply?
No. You do not need an agency to apply for a UK Student visa. Many students handle the university application, CAS, and visa process directly. Some choose to pay for help with paperwork or interview prep — that’s a personal choice, not a requirement.
